About the album
I had been distracted by Burning Man in the USA for ten years and then, in 2007, returned to my birthplace, South Africa, to bring to fruition the first regional Burning Man event in Afrika, Afrika Burn. In 2009, I relocated to Australia to work on Burning Man-related regional events; I had 17 years of wonderful distractions. In early 2023, releasing a new record began to appeal to me. I have always loved vinyl, and newer manufacturing technologies have improved dramatically. I had continued to produce music over the years, but I had neither finished nor released completed music for years. I began to remaster some older pieces and compose newer ones to include in a new record. After years of dormancy, many things aligned, and this record was completed relatively quickly. To coincide with this, I decided to start a small boutique vinyl label, and this record would serve as the aperitif.
